20 Days of Gold Making Day 17

This is in response to the post 20 Days of Gold Making – Community Idea from Auction House Addict.

Question #17 is: Pets – Did you used to do the Vendor pet sales? How have pet battles changed things for you?

I dabbled in vendor pets a little bit.  I remember specifically buying the Ancona Chicken for 1g and selling it on the AH for around 50g.  I did that a few times, but it was a bit inconvenient to go all the way to Thousand Needles when there were so many other things to do. According to The Undermine Journal, people are still selling (or at least attempting to sell) this pet for about what I used to sell it for.  Thinking about it, it’s kinda strange that I even knew the chicken was there to purchase.  I leveled my very first character through Thousand Needles and made sure to pick up some Ancona Chickens to sell while I was there.  I’m not sure why I knew about that so early in my WoW experience.

I also sent a few Cat Carrier (White Kitten) over to the Horde side and sold them for 500g or so.  They didn’t sell quickly, but they did sell.  With the account-wide pet system we have now, I would be very surprised to see this work as well as it did.  I’m sure that some people would still buy it for a decent price out of convenience or just not knowing how to get it (or maybe way out of date Auctioneer data) but I imagine that it would take even longer than before to sell it.  Maybe I’ll try it again to see if it is worth the effort

I’m pretty sure I sold quite a few other vendor pets once or twice, but nothing else I can remember specifically.  At one point I had the habit of checking every vendor I stumbled across for recipes and pets that I could potentially sell but I hardly ever returned for a second batch.
